What Does a Coach Do?
A great coach is an expert at helping his or her client live their own brilliance.
As we work with your emerging brilliance you can always expect me to do the following.
- Hold the coaching relationship as sacred, confidential, and abide by the highest codes of conduct.
- Get to the heart of the matter at hand. Be an extremely perceptive listener, an offerer of powerful questions, insights, and resources.
- Be genuine.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate in all matters.
- Inspire your imagination, intelligence, and depth in every way possible, especially by example.
- Assist you to expand your awareness and deepen your consciousness
- Help support your chosen actions in a way that empowers you to move, sustainably, to a whole new level in life.
Coaching is not consulting or counseling. I particularly like coaching because:
- The coach and client are equals. There is no authority figure.
- In coaching, the client is assumed to be already healthy and whole.
- The coach never prescribes, diagnoses, advises or tells the client what to do.
- The client determines the agenda. The coach aligns with the client and supports them in their endeavor.
- There is accountability. The coach and client work together to determine the next steps the client should take.
- It's an investment in a really great life. Coaching is about the client's joy and fulfillment.
- Since all outcomes are determined and achieved by the client, he or she is the one that becomes truly empowered. The coach is a servant to the client's empowerment.
